Cameras in the sheds
Can I watch the calving or lambing shed from the house?
Yes. We fit cameras in the shed and stream them to your phone, tablet or a screen in the kitchen. Most farmers use night vision cameras over the calving pens so a 3am check is a glance at the phone rather than a walk across the yard in the rain.
Will cameras work in a shed with no internet?
They will. We can run a wireless link from the farmhouse or office out to the shed, or fit a 4G unit at the shed itself. If there is no power we can use solar and battery kits for remote buildings and field gateways.
Do cameras cope with dust, cobwebs and washing down?
We use weatherproof, IP-rated housings and position them out of the direct spray line, with sensible cable routes clipped away from stock. We also show you how to keep lenses clear so night vision does not wash out.
Yard and machinery security
Can I get an alert if someone comes into the yard at night?
Yes. We set motion and line-crossing detection on gateways, the fuel tank and machinery sheds, so your phone alerts only on real movement rather than every fox and branch. Recorded footage is kept locally so you have evidence to hand to the police.
Will CCTV help with fuel and quad theft?
It is the single most common reason farmers call us. Cameras on the tank, the quad shed and the entrance track, plus ANPR on the lane where it is worth it, both deter thieves and give the police number plates and timings that stand up.
Can you cover a track or entrance a long way from the buildings?
We regularly run point-to-point wireless links several hundred metres, and further where there is line of sight, so you can cover the far gate without trenching a cable across the field.
Internet and WiFi on the farm
Our broadband is hopeless — what are the options?
Usually Starlink or a properly installed 4G/5G system. Starlink gives fast, low-latency internet almost anywhere with a clear view of the sky, and suits farms miles from the cabinet. Where there is decent mast coverage, an external 4G/5G antenna on the roof is often cheaper to run.
Can you get WiFi from the house to the workshop and grain store?
Yes — wireless links between buildings, with access points inside, so herd software, cameras, laptops and card readers all work in the workshop, parlour and office rather than only in the kitchen.
Will it handle herd software, movement paperwork and cameras at once?
We size the system for the number of buildings, cameras and users rather than selling a single router. Cameras get their own capacity so a busy upload does not stop the office working.
Mobile signal and practicalities
There is no mobile signal in the steel-clad shed — can that be fixed?
Yes. A mobile signal booster takes the signal available outside and repeats it inside the building, which matters for lone workers in sheds and parlours and for anyone relying on a phone in an emergency.
Can you work around milking and feeding times?
We plan installs around the working day, so parlour and shed work happens between milkings and we keep out of the way of feeding and turnout.
